Passionate about serving our community

Letchworth Garden City Church exists to connect and lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus. We believe we are called to "seek the peace and prosperity of the community we are in. As we pray and serve our community it will proposer (Jeremiah 29:7) This is what we desire to do as a church across North Hertfordshire and Central Bedfordshire.

As a church we are passionate about serving the community we love.

Our Strategy.

Our strategy to enrich the community around us is to empower people that are passionate; serving others the way Jesus did. We believe that our towns and villages are best served through projects and partnerships that will release our congregation to make a positive change as we each use our gifts and passions.

Why do we serve our community?

Compassion:

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them” (Matthew 9:36)

We are called to be compassionate in who we are and in all we do. Whatever we are involved in, we need to be demonstrating compassion to those around us, showing care, concern, identifying needs and being able to help where we can

Gospel

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The Son, Jesus always pointed to the Father and He has made us image bearers of Jesus. As we share the good news of the Gospel we can point others to the Father. We share the Gospel through our everyday activities in our community i.e. work, social, family, shopping - your everyday coming and going.

Kingdom

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)

We need to be demonstrating the power of transformation in what we do, who we talk to and how we serve and influence our community. Offering to pray for people for healing, for blessing, for provision is an incredible way to point people to the Father and allowing God to reveal himself to them, right where they are at.
