Community Bible Experience

Discover the Bible together in a whole, new way

The story of Jesus, His church and the world He came to save

Read big, read well, read together

The Community Bible Experience is a revolutionary way to gather together and read the bible, encouraging regular, meaningful engagement with God’s word. This will be more like a book club than a Bible study, where people can get together, and share their questions and encouragements.

We will be reading a dedicated version of the Bible, which we encourage you to purchase below. (We don’t want the cost to be an obstacle for you, so if you can’t afford one simply choose the option to order a copy free of charge.)

More Information…

“Love, Death and Resurrection” is the New Testament presented in a new format, especially created for the Community Bible Experience. The reading experience will be more like a book club rather than a Bible study and we’ll be reading around 12 pages each day from Monday to Friday (with Saturday and Sunday to catch up!).

Each week we gather in a Community Bible Experience Group to discuss what has been read using five simple questions, the first of which is, “What did you notice for the first time?”.

Reading the New Testament together will bring greater understanding of the big picture of the Bible.

The order of the New Testament books has also been changed. For example, the book begins with the Gospel of Luke, which tells the story of Jesus, and then follows straight on with Luke’s second volume, the Acts of the Apostles, that tells the story of the Church that Jesus founded. Paul’s writings, which are arranged in order of length in the New Testament, are reorganised into chronological order, to give a sense of following the story.

Tips for reading…

  1. Every Monday to Friday, there will be around 12 pages to read. That’s roughly 30 minutes a day.

  2. Some people find reading at the same time and in the same place helps establish a habit of reading the Bible. Others like variety.

  3. Don’t worry if you don’t get all the reading done. It’s not a competition or a race. Chances are, even if you miss a day, you will be reading more of the Bible than you normally do.

  4. Get along to a weekly Community Bible Experience Group, even if you don’t get round to reading all the pages. Often listening to others share what they have read will help us with our reading.

  5. The introductions help give an overview to each book. It can be tempting to skip these, but reading them gives you a better sense of the big picture.

  6. Take notes. The books is there to be underlined, highlighted, and written in. This is really helpful when it comes to the discussion.
